Top 5 Multiplayer Titles

The last post I put up was regarding some of the best games for a powerful story driven experience and so it seemed only right to mention the Top 5 games in my opinion that deliver  immersive and entertaining multiplayer gameplay.

1. Counter Strike: Global Offensive (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)- Probably in the list of top 10 most popular games out there, Counter Strike: GO is a classic fan favorite tactical shooter. It stays true to it's word by delivering smooth gameplay unlike any other. ADS (Aiming down sight) is not an option which may put some people off but from my experience, makes the game a whole lot better. Definitely one of the harder FPS games to master, CS:GO offers you multiple game modes to practice on or go competitive and prove yourself. Although the game is available on the PS3 and Xbox 360, it is highly recommended to avoid this game on those platforms as the player base is small and the experience isn't half as fulfilling as the PC variant considering Valve has stopped updates for their console version a long time back. CS:GO is probably one of the easiest games to run as both the minimum and recommended PC requirements are quite low for today's day and age.

2. Battlefield 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)- I personally have been a huge fan of the Battlefield franchise for the longest time and even though DICE has released Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline, it's still pretty evident to most fans of the franchise that neither deliver the way Battlefield 3 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 did. For those unaware, Battlefield 3 delivers large scale battles with player's ranging from 10-32 on either team. Most maps are huge and beautiful offering not only infantry combat but also vehicular through attack choppers, jets, tanks, anti-air's, etc. The game is diverse and beautiful. Although the max player cap per server is 24 on the last gen consoles, the game is still very enjoyable. However, if you have a PC as well as last gen, pick it up for the PC because the framerate is a lot better and the player count per server is a lot higher.

3. Grand Theft Auto V (PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One)- This game needs no description. Being the latest games to one of the oldest franchises out there, Rockstar does not fail to deliver with their latest release, GTA 5. Right off the bat, the game looks stunning on every platform especially on the PC and current gen consoles. The city of Los Santos and it's surrounding hills and countryside is a beautiful and vivid place to explore and enjoy and even though the single player campaign is worth a playthrough, the multiplayer is just as good! Servers hold up to 16 players on last gen consoles and 30 on current gen and PC. Players are able to customize their own characters and develop their skills and abilities depending on their play styles. Numerous vehicles and armored weaponry adds to the experience. With multiple gamemodes like races, deathmatches, various missions that are team based or against each other, heists, etc.

4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)- With Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Treyarch not only delivered a game with an entertaining and interactive single player but also a very enjoyable multiplayer. The multiplayer is fast paced and always action packed and will keep you occupied for a long long time. Although there have been multiple newer Call of Duty releases after Black Ops 2, it is still one of the most loved and played COD games till date. The game is well balanced and the gameplay is smooth and crisp. Enjoyable killstreaks that are extremely rewarding and maps that are brilliantly made make Black Ops 2 one of the best FPS titles you'll find out there!

5. Rocket League (PC, Xbox One, PS4)- Merging the racing and sport genre into one, Psyonix, the creators of the game, tried to create a game unlike any other seen to date and they did it beautifully. Controlling fast paced vehicles in an arena with the primary objective of whacking the ball into the oppositions goal is extremely fun and satisfying. It's basically football/soccer but with cars instead of players. The game stays fresh and won't get boring even after months of gameplay and is equally well made and optimized on all 3 platforms. Also, rumors now confirm that it will allow crossplay between PS4, Xbox One and PC allowing players from all 3 platforms to play with one another. It's a game everyone must try at least once. Trust me, you won't regret it!
